Maria Kadison President & CEO
Maria is a trusted partner to college presidents and vice presidents, heads of school, and directors of communications, enrollment, and advancement.
Maria has worked directly with educational institutions since 2001 whether from the inside as a Vice President for Marketing at Simmons College, as a school committee member in her hometown, or as a strategy and marketing consultant for admissions, communications, and advancement.
At Simmons College, she led institutional branding, advancement communications and admissions marketing for the undergraduate college and five graduate schools. When she arrived, Simmons was in a crisis––record low enrollment, declining quality and soaring discount rate. When she left, enrollment in the undergraduate college was at maximum capacity, with the highest SAT scores in its history, and a discount rate at the national average. During the same period, university credit hours doubled. Since the Simmons turnaround, Maria has been a highly sought-after consultant for colleges, universities and independent schools across the country.
She has won several national CASE and other industry awards for the overhaul of marketing materials, multi-channel marketing strategies, and industry research and analysis.
Prior to working in education, Maria’s corporate career spans 20 years, focused mainly on consumer marketing. She was the SVP for Marketing and Customer Service at HomePortfolio.com (owned by Conde Nast and Meredith Publishing), and prior to that she was Senior Analyst at Forrester Research where she launched the Online Retail practice. Before entering the Internet space, Maria was a management consultant for various organizations and worked internationally in Paris, Poland, and Bolivia on projects ranging from Häagen-Dazs’s pan-European marketing strategy to analysis of state-owned enterprises in former communist countries to political campaign communications for the President of Bolivia.
Maria holds two graduate degrees from Yale, an MBA and MA in international relations, as well as BA from Emory University. Maria is a graduate of the Wheeler School in Providence, RI.
